Monika

Monika is a University of Warsaw graduate (Pedagogy, with emphasis on teaching children). An elementary school teacher for 8 years, she has taught at IKO since 1995.

Monika enjoys reading, her favorite books are psychological, philosophical, autobiographies, and novels (especially those by W. Garcia Marques and Michaił Bułchakov). She loves to sing and performs with the Warsaw University Collegium Musicum, a choir that performs chamber music. She has traveled to Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the Canary Islands. She loves walking in the mountains, particularly downhill.

"I truly enjoy teaching, having contact with children and adults, working with students, seeking new ways to help them learn. I get a profound feeling of satisfaction knowing that I make a difference to the many expats in my classes who truly need to learn Polish. My work is challenging and requires me to be creative. Different students require different approaches, even to the same lesson, and the interactive approach allows me to be an actor while role playing, always seeking the best manner in which to communicate."
